The project was started as an experiment. We wanted to see what happens if we start taking photos simultaneously in two big cities. During the summer of 2015 we were surfing the streets with the cameras at the same time and tried to juxtapose 2 images of New York and Moscow from the same day in series of diptychs. We wanted to amplify one with the other, tried to find coincidences and rhymes.
Two cities merged into one space, continued one another. The sky is the same everywhere, walls are of different colors, and stories are universal. At some point the question of space becomes secondary and that’s why we wanted photos to be connected through time.
This is an ongoing project.
